Which format should I pick?

WebP — the modern default. ~30% smaller than JPG at identical visual quality, supports transparency, works in every browser shipped since 2020.
JPG — universal compatibility. Use for email attachments, third-party uploads where you don't know the platform, or older software. No transparency.

Which format should I convert to?

Will converting reduce my image quality?

Converting between lossy formats re-encodes the image and can lose subtle detail. Use the quality slider to control the trade-off. Converting to PNG preserves what's there, but can't recover detail already lost.

Can I batch-convert many files at once?
